Brain Health

As you exercise you start to breathe harder and your heart beats faster. Increases in oxygen intake and circulation benefit brain health by promoting neurogenesis—the production of neurons. Research indicates that this process enhances memory and learning abilities.

Mood Management

Engaging in a gym session or brisk walk can effectively manage stress and elevate your mood. Physical activity stimulates the release of endorphins, reducing stress, providing an emotional lift and contributing to overall well-being.

Disease Prevention

Regular exercise lowers the risk of various chronic diseases, including cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, and certain cancers. It improves overall health and enhances longevity.

Boosted Energy Levels

Contrary to common belief, regular physical activity boosts energy levels rather than depletes them. It enhances stamina and reduces feelings of fatigue over time, contributing to increased productivity and overall vitality.

Better Sleep

Alongside boosted energy levels, the energy you exert during the day allows for you to relax better in bed. Also the energy loss that occurs during exercise stimulates restorative processes during sleep heightening the quality of your rest.

How consistent is too consistent?

The benefits listed above may serve as motivation for you to continue or even start exercising consistently! It is recommended adults aged 18-64 should either perform 150-300 minutes of moderately intense aerobic physical activities, 75-150 minutes of more intense aerobic physical activities or a combination of those. Alongside the aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening exercises are done involving all major muscle groups at least two days a week. However, this does not mean you should exercise every day for the rest of your lives as overtraining is a frequent problem among many enthusiastic gym goers.
